Miraji is considered one of the prominent poets and critics of Urdu literature who gave new intellectual and aesthetic horizons to modern poetry and criticism. He laid the foundation of psychological criticism in Urdu by combining Eastern and Western trends and brought the circle of masters of taste out of the impressionistic level and exposed them to research and objective criticism. His book "Is Nazm Mein" is the basic source for understanding modern Urdu poetry, in which He brought his taste out of the Iranian level and exposed it to research and objective criticism. Miraji's impartial insight and aesthetic consciousness made him the founder of modern Urdu criticism and the first credible critic of new poetry.
