Abstract

Syed Waris Shah is the "Sukhan da Waris" in Punjabi poetry, while Mir Taqi Mir is known as "Khuda-E-Sukhan" in Urdu literature. Both are great classical poets of the 18th century. Both have richly represented their language, literature and culture. The creative literature of both is not less than a literary asset not only for the past, but also for the present and the future. In this research article, two great poets of the same era have been compared intellectually and artistically, and their political, social and contemporary consciousness has been highlighted.
