Abstract

Aftab Iqbal Shamim is a renowned name in the tradition of Urdu free verse. He enriched Urdu free verse with deep emotions, imagination and observations. Experiences of techniques in free verse makes his poems unique in farm and art. He used various techniques of fiction in modern free verse like, symbolism, dialogue, narration, collage, steem of consciousness and imagery. These techniques help him to create a multidimensional way of narration which is comprehensive and personified. Aftab Iqbal Shamim was awarded with pride of performance award in 2005. History, existentialism, social injustice, nature, resistance is the main subjects whish are discussed in these poems with the help of techniques.
