This research article explores the life, spiritual personality, and poetic contributions of *Abid Saeed Abid (1948–2023), a distinguished Naat poet from the Gujar Khan region. The study highlights his transition from Ghazal to dedicated Naat writing, categorizing his literary journey into four distinct phases: the Initial, Transitional, Zenith, and Perfection periods. Deeply influenced by the spiritual lineage of Golra Sharif his poetry transcends mere emotional expression, evolving into a profound spiritual experience. The article analyses his unique technical and thematic attributes, such as his mastery of Sahl-e-Mumtana (deceptive simplicity), the use of short meters (Ikhtisar-e-Bahar), and the frequent employment of the lamp/lamp-light (Chiraagh/Deep) metaphor as a symbol of optimism and hope. With notable collections like Najat, Ziarat, Rasai, and Qabooliyat, Abid Saeed Abid holds a prestigious position in the Naat tradition of Pothohar. The research concludes that his work serves as a vital bridge between local tradition and universal Islamic thought, making it a significant addition to contemporary Urdu Naat literature.
