Flashback is the most well-known term in literature that is included in the creation of the writer at an unconscious level. Through the flashback technique, a writer, while speaking in the present, remembers an event from the past and the writer starts exploring the past in this context and then describes it by linking the past and the present. Mukhtar Masood's first book is "Awaz-e-Dost", which was published in January 1973. "Awaz-e-Dost" contains a heart-warming story of the Pakistan movement and the existence of Pakistan, and in this sense it is considered a book of history. Safar-e-Naseeb is Mukhtar Masood's second book, which was first published in January 1981. Mukhtar Masood's use of flashback technique is an excellent example. The brilliance with which Mukhtar Masood has used this technique in his travelogues of inner Pakistan is unparalleled anywhere else.
