The mythological elements in Novels of Bushra Saeed in context with "Sifal Gar" and "Raqs-e-Junoon"

Abstract

Mythology is a set of old, symbolic stories that people believe and values. The mythology remains a living force in literature, serving as a vital tool for writers to connect modern human experiences with ancient, universal truths. Myths serve as ancient science and history. Bushra Saeed, a well-known modern 21st-century novel writer, presented myths in fiction as a blend of religion and nature, reflecting the eternal human desires to explain the mysteries of her characters. She presented the values and environment of eastern and western societies and bridges these societies with mythological traditions. This article shows the presentation of Indian mythology and Christian Iconography like the story of Radha, Krishna as symbol of love, Virgin Mary as symbol of patience and Cross and Jesus Christ as symbol of sacrifice.
