Abstract

Proverbs constitute an important part of the cultural, social, and intellectual heritage of any language. Balochi proverbs likewise reflect the collective wisdom, worldview, values, customs, and social attitudes of Baloch society. This study examines the trends and attitudes embedded in Balochi proverbs. The primary objective is to explore the extent to which these proverbs represent the cultural, moral, economic, and psychological tendencies of the Baloch community. A descriptive and analytical approach has been employed to analyze selected subject of Balochi proverbs. The findings reveal that themes such as bravery, hospitality, honor, love and affection, collective responsibility, and social relationships are prominently represented in Balochi proverbial expressions. At the same time, some proverbs also reflect social inequalities, gender perceptions, and class-based attitudes prevalent in society. Furthermore, despite contemporary social changes, Balochi proverbs continue to retain their semantic and cultural significance and serve as an effective source for understanding the intellectual and social trends of Baloch culture. This study highlights the importance of proverbs in Balochi folklore and linguistic studies and suggests further avenues for future research in this field.
