This research critically examines Ji Mariya Na Mout, the Sindhi translation of a Vietnamese revolutionary novel rendered by Tanveer Abbasi, focusing on its ideological depth, artistic structure, and translational significance in modern Sindhi literature. In Sindhi literary tradition, translation has functioned not merely as a linguistic transfer but as an intellectual and cultural bridge through which revolutionary consciousness, human struggle, and anti-imperialist thought entered regional literary discourse. The novel holds a distinctive position because it introduces the spirit of Vietnamese resistance literature to Sindhi readers while enriching Sindhi literary thought with themes of freedom, sacrifice, and collective resilience.
Originally authored by Phan Thi Quyen, the novel reflects the political, social, and psychological realities of the Vietnamese Revolution. Through his translation, Tanveer Abbasi successfully reconstructs the emotional intensity, symbolic depth, and ideological force of the original text within the linguistic and cultural framework of Sindhi society. Using qualitative and analytical methods, this study examines characterization, language, thematic construction, and the representation of resistance against imperialism. The protagonist, Truoi, emerges as a powerful symbol of revolutionary commitment, courage, and collective human perseverance. Artistically, the novel adopts a simple, direct, and realist narrative style that strengthens its documentary and revolutionary nature. The study concludes that Ji Mariya Na Mout is a significant contribution to Sindhi translated literature and an important example of resistance literature, demonstrating how translation can transcend linguistic boundaries and become a medium of intellectual solidarity, ideological awakening, and literary enrichment within regional literary traditions.
