Asad Mehmood Khan is a well-known Urdu short story writer who uses his real-life experiences, especially from his military career, to highlight social issues. His stories talk about poverty, family problems, women’s struggles, and the hard life of soldiers. He writes with emotion and realism, focusing on the daily lives of ordinary people. His story “Neel Polish” shows an Afghan girl’s innocent dreams in a harsh society, while “Khwaab Mein Likhi Gayi Kahani” reveals the sacrifices of soldiers. Khan’s writing also points out how freedom and justice often remain out of reach. Through simple yet powerful stories, he gives a voice to those facing hardships in society
