Abstract

Urdu has been implemented as the official language of Pakistan since 1947. Since then, it is the language of communication in daily life, the language of markets, the language of sermons in the mosques and the language of mainstream media. Being the national language of the country, it has influenced all Pakistani languages. Unfortunately, the Balochi language is one of those languages in Pakistan, which is not taught in primary and secondary schools’ level.The domination of national language in all institutions as well as all walks of life, Urdu has laid a great impact over the native languages of the country. This paper highlights the code switching of Urdu nouns in eastern and western dialects of the Balochi language.
